Theme Day Sunday - Birthday!

It's theme day Sunday at My Cricut Craft Room today!  Today's theme is birthdays!  Who doesn't love celebrating a birthday!  My daughter's birthday is coming up and she is having a Pinkalicious birthday party!  The Pinkalicious books by Victoria Kann are some of our favorites in this house!  If you've never heard of them it is about a little girl who loves pink cupcakes and eats so many she turns Pink!! My daughter loves the whole series.  So this year we are throwing a Pinkalicious birthday!  I am planning lots of pink decorations and crafts!  I'm sure you will see more on this site as it gets closer!
But for today's theme day I created this Pinkalicious birthday layout!
It is perfect for 2 4x6 pictures.  I usually scrapbook for pictures I already have.  So this is a first for me to design the layout first and then get pictures!  I just have to remember to take 2 vertical pictures at her party!!
This layout uses two cricut cartridges - Sweet Treats and Storybook
I also used my cuttlebug for the first time!  Love it!!!

The large cupcake was cut at 3 inches from the Sweet Treats cart.  The sprinkles were just scraps cut using my scissors.
The #5 candle was cut at 1.5 inches, also from Sweet Treats

The smaller cupcakes were cut at 2 inches each and I used a cuttlebug embossing folder on 3 of the cupcakes.  It is so easy to use a cuttlebug and adds so much to the layout! I love it! I definitely see me using it a lot more!

The Letters in the title are all cut from the Storybook cartridge and then welded together using my gypsy at 1.12 inches!

Well, that's my layout for theme day Sunday! Make sure you check out Erica's My Cricut Craft Room for some more awesome birthday creations! Have a great day!

My Cricut Craft Room's Christmas in July Blog Hop

Welcome to Erica's My Cricut Craft Room's Christmas in July blog hop!
You should have come from Laurie's Blog If not please go to  Erica's Cricut Craft Room Blog to start from the beginning....

I love Christmas!  Love everything about it! So I was super excited to sign up to be part of this awesome blog hop.  Who doesn't love Christmas in July!  Especially when it has been so hot this month. It's nice to at least think of cool weather!

For my project I designed a Santa on Christmas morning layout!

Sorry my pictures aren't that great.  I haven't figured out the best way to photograph my layouts yet!
I decided to create my layout as Santa and his elf bringing presents around the tree and stockings! I used quite a few cartridges in this layout:
- Jolly Holidays
- Winter Frolic
- Christmas Cheer
- Joys of the Season
- Christmas
All of the paper was just from my stash in my craft room.  I've been trying to not buy any more paper till I use up the ton of paper I have already.  Instead I just seem to keep on buying new cartridges!!!

I use my Gypsy for all of my designing, so my sizes are little different then if just using your machines alone.
'Merry Christmas' is from the "Jolly Holiday" cartridge.  I cut it at  2.38 inches.
Also from this cart I cut the little elf pulling the cart!  Isn't he adorable!
I used my gypsy to hide his face to then use some Peachy Keen stamps face set!  I love those faces!!!
I cut the elf at  2.54 inches

The Santa from above is from the "Winter Frolic" cart.  He was cut with all layers at 4.38 inches.  I also used the gypsy flip function so he would face toward the tree!

The Christmas tree was from the  "Christmas" cart
I cut it at 7 inches.
The ornaments on the tree are from "Christmas Cheer" and "Winter Frolic" and range from 1 - 1.5 inches.
The presents are from "Christmas Cheer" and "Winter Frolic" cart and are cut between 1.15 - 1.5 inches each.

the fireplace is cut from the "Joys of the Season" cart and is 4 inches tall!
The stockings with presents are from "Winter Frolic" and are 1.77 inches.

I hope you enjoyed my layout for this Christmas in July blog hop!  I am so excited to be able to participate in this hop and share my designs with you!

Scrapbook Saturday at My Cricut Craft Room - July 9, 2011

Today in Erica's Cricut Craft Room it is Scrapbook Saturday!  All projects today will be scrapbook layouts!  I designed this layout for some adorable pictures of my daughter.  She was so excited to get her first pair of cowgirl boots last year! So we had to take some pictures.  She grabbed her toy horse and her cowgirl hat and we had a blast!  It's taken me awhile to get a scrapbook layout together for these pictures so this was the perfect plan for my first Scrapbook Saturday post!
I hope you enjoy my project!

I used a few cricut cartridges for this layout.
      - Paper Doll Dress Up
      - Old West
      - A Child's Year

The girl and all of her cowgirl clothes were cut at 3 inches

The 'Cowgirl Up!' saying and shadow was cut from Old West cartridge at 3 inches

When I saw this image on the Child's Year cartridge I knew it would be perfect for this layout!  I have a picture of my daughter doing the same thing with her toy horse!  I cut this image out in both brown and purple at 4.53 inches.  I layered them to create a shadow look.

The cowgirl boots, stars, horsehoes were all cut from the Old West cartridge.

I hope you enjoyed my layout in honor of my little cowgirl!!!
Thanks for checking it out!
Don't forget to check out the other projects over at My Cricut Craft Room!
Thanks

What a great day today for celebrating!  Congratulations to Erica and her family today!  And Happy 4th of July weekend to you all!
I decided to make a wedding scrapbook page in honor of Erica's special day!  Since I'm relatively new to the cricut and scrapbooking world I had never designed a page for my own wedding almost 9 years ago!
Here's my layout, I hope you enjoy it:

Layout Recipe:
I used the Disney Princesses Happily Ever After and Paper Doll Dress Up cartridges.
 - Happily Ever After sign cut at 3 inches including the shadow cut

 - Bride & Groom and all accessories cut at 3 inches
 - Trellis cut at 4.08 in
All paper was bought at AC Moore & JoAnn's.
Well that's my first project share on here! I really hope you enjoyed it.
